ARTICLE IV
MEMBERSHIP/AFFILIATES/SPONSORS/DUES and FEES
Section 1 – Membership
Individuals of honorable character and reputation, having an interest in the objectives of the Federation, may be eligible for membership unless the Board of Directors finds cause for rejection of application. An affiliate membership category is available for individual members who wish to support the objectives of the Federation and participate in the hunter education clinic program without voting privileges. Affiliate members are not eligible for positions on the MHHF Board of Directors.
a) Annual Dues: Individual annual membership dues, and individual annual affiliate membership dues, in the amount of twenty dollars ($20) is payable to the Federation on or before March 1st each year. Members who fail to pay such annual dues by March 31st shall no longer be considered in good standing.
b) LifeMembership: Individual members and individual affiliate members may at any time become Life Members for a one-time fee of two hundred fifty dollars ($250).
c) Application: Individual membership applications consist of three parts: Application, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Policies & Procedures. The signed application and MOU shall be returned to the Federation's Executive Director for review and approval by the Board of Directors. Members retain the Policies & Procedures for their permanent records.
d) Responsibilities: Members of the Federation shall be of honorable character and reputation, without any felony or serious misdemeanor convictions, and without any violations of wildlife codes. It is expected that members will conduct themselves according to the highest legal, moral, and ethical standards at all Federation functions and elsewhere. It is further expected that members will comply with the explicit instructions listed in the Policies & Procedures regarding the hunter education clinic program.
e) Privileges: Members of the Federation in good standing may:
- Attend and participate in all meetings and social events.
- Exercise voting privileges except on matters solely before the Board of Directors (does not include affiliate members).
- Participate in hunter education clinics – must be certified by MDC to teach class portion.
- Display in an appropriate manner the Federation's official logo on personal garments.
f) Disciplinary Procedures: Membership in the Federation may be revoked for cause by the Board of Directors for members who are no longer in good standing as a result of the following:
- Failure to pay annual dues.
- Violation of the members' responsibilities listed in Section 1-d) above.
- Any violations tending to injure the good name of the Federation, disturb its well being, or hinder the pursuit of its objectives.
The Board of Directors shall make a reasonable attempt to contact such member to notify him/her of possible or pending disciplinary action. A simple majority vote of the Directors participating in such action may revoke membership in the Federation. Such member shall be notified in writing, at last known address, and advised of their option to appeal disciplinary action at next regularly scheduled quarterly board meeting.
g) Resignation: Any member desiring to resign from the Federation may submit his/her resignation in writing, including email, to the Executive Director or to the Board of Directors.
Section 2 – Group Affiliates
Conservation clubs, associations, and other organizations composed of members who are interested in the objectives of the Federation may apply for group affiliation.
a) AnnualFees: Annual Fees in the amount of two hundred fifty dollars ($250) shall be paid to the Federation on or before March 1st each year. Group Affiliates who fail to pay annual fees by March 31st will no longer be considered active.
b) Recognition: Group Affiliates in good standing, and unless otherwise indicated, may be listed on the Federation's web site, in printed materials, and in various advertisements or articles about the hunter education clinics. In addition, group affiliates may be featured as a sponsor of the clinic of their choice.
c) Application: The Federation shall provide an application form for the convenience of Group Affiliates.
Section 3 – Sponsors
Individuals, partnerships, foundations, corporations, organizations, or government agencies interested in supporting the objectives of the Federation may become an annual sponsor.
a) Sponsorship Categories: Annual contributions to the Federation in the amount of:
- Sponsor – up to $999
- Bronze Sponsor - $1,000 or more
- Silver Sponsor – $2,500 or more
- Gold Sponsor – $5,000 or more
- Diamond Sponsor - $10,000 or more
- Platinum Sponsor – $25,000 or more
- Double Platinum Sponsor - $50,000 or more
b) Recognition: Sponsors in good standing, and unless otherwise indicated, may receive special recognition on the Federation's web site, in printed materials, and in various advertisements or articles about the hunter education clinics.
c) Application: The Federation shall provide an application form for the convenience of Sponsors.
